World Class Halibut Fishing - Homer Alaska

Homer is one of Alaska's hot spots a must see destination. A small fishing community located about 220 miles south of Anchorage on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. It sits nestled on the shores of Kachemak Bay surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery imaginable. Rugged mountains, Glaciers, and wildlife both land and marine. All this can be seen from the bluffs over looking Kachemak Bay and the Homer Spit. Although known for it's world class Halibut fishing Homer has a lot more to offer such as, sea kayaking, coastal marine tours, flight seeing, hiking, ect. not to mention the local hospitality. "don't forget your camera."

Although Halibut fishing is our main goal there are several species of fish caught threw out the season such as Salmon, Rock Fish, and Ling Cod. We do offer Halibut / Salmon combo fishing trips. We Specialize in full day fishing trips and V.I.P. service. Your charter day begins with a scenic boat ride to the fishing grounds where the adventure begins and the fun never ends. The length of your day is about 8 to 10 hours depending on weather and fish bite.

A good day of fishing
Steve has been guiding sport fisherman for 28 years fishing Kachemak Bay, upper and lower Cook Inlet to the Barren Islands. He is a former Silver Fox Charters skipper with enough experience to get you on the fish. We invite you to come and experience a fun filled day of fishing aboard our 30 foot heated cabin cruiser "Big Easy." The boat has state of the art electronics and is fully licensed and insured.

During the off season while traveling the western United States my wife and I enjoy fishing for Trout, Bass, and Stripper's. We have both discovered fly fishing and find that learning this new technique is both challenging and artful.

Halibut: The average weight of halibut is 15 to 30 lbs.. Limit two fish per person per day. There are much larger fish to be caught. A lot of that depends upon weather, tides and feeding patterns. It's a new adventure every day. Fishing depths range from 25 to 300 feet depending on location and tides.

Lodging: There are numerous Hotel's, B&B's, Inn's and Lodges to choose from. We can assist with that if needed.
